Calonji which may also called nigella, are widely grown in India in the form of bushes. Calonji seeds are about the same size as sesame seeds and used in variety of recipes. They may be added to traditional Indian bread called naan, and can be used in any curry, stew or Dal. Sometimes the seeds are used to make oil and used as herbal remedy than as cooking oil.
